Job Description:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our client's finance team on a 14-month fixed term contract. Based in Felixstowe, you will play a crucial role in managing the purchase ledger and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of their financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process supplier invoices and ensure they are accurately recorded in the system.
* Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes.
* Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
* Prepare and process payment runs, including BACS and cheque payments.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier records.
* Assist with month-end closing activities and provide support for audits.
* Respond to supplier queries and liaise with internal departments to resolve issues.
* Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis as required.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A proactive and problem-solving attitude.
