We are working with a developer with over 50 years experience in the industry. They are hiring for a Quantity Surveyor within their Surrey office which covers sites across the South of England ranging from 100-300 units per development.
Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on project drawings and specifications.
* Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to budget constraints throughout the construction process.
* Assist in contract negotiations and prepare tender documents for prospective contractors.
* Perform value engineering assessments to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
* Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
* Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to provide financial reports and forecasts.
* Maintain comprehensive records of all cost data, including invoices, contracts, and change orders.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and team members.
* Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools, including Microsoft Excel and relevant estimating software.
* In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines effectively.
