We are recruiting for a Specialist Programmes Trainer at Forward Trust, within the Family Support and Specialist Programme Team. We deliver and design a range of Training and Programme packages for family members and individuals overcoming addiction. Our focus is on exploring the Family System and providing support, encouragement, and education to individuals within this System.
We collaborate with the Research and Development Directorate, Recovery Support, and Therapeutic Quality Teams to generate new initiatives such as a Workforce Development Framework for Drug and Alcohol Practitioners and Lived Experience Volunteers/Peer Mentors.
We deliver the M-PACT Programme across the UK and Ireland to a wide range of services and organisations, as well as the Recovering Families UK Online Programme. We conduct collaborative evaluations with our participants on all projects.
Our aim is to strengthen relationships and interpersonal connections, ensuring every person feels safe, supported, and valued.
Role Responsibilities
This role will support the delivery of a developing range of Specialist Programmes, including the accredited M-PACT Practitioner training to internal and external staff across the UK and Ireland. The role requires delivering high standards of training in line with the expectations of the organisation and Family Support Department.
The role will also assist Specialist Programme Management in developing and evaluating current and new areas of delivery. This is a hybrid role with regular travel across the organisation and to external stakeholders, including delivering training in Prisons, such as the new eco-friendly Prison in York, HMP Millsike.
Please note this is a part-time role of 21 hours per week, preferably over 3 working days, but can be flexible.
All prison-based roles will require enhanced DBS and HMPPS security vetting, which can take up to 3-6 weeks. All offers are subject to receiving both HMPPS vetting and DBS clearances.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for organised, innovative, creative, and confident individuals to join our team. Skills and experience needed for this role include:
1. Experience designing and delivering engaging training sessions, especially for managerial audiences.
2. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage participants at different levels.
3. Creative approach to content creation and training delivery, ensuring a dynamic and interactive experience.
4. Experience in delivering training in both face-to-face and virtual settings.
5. Understanding of diversity and inclusion and the ability to promote these values through learning and development activities.
6. Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
7. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
8. Comfortable using a Learning Management System (LMS), e-learning tools, and other technology to design, deliver, and track learning programmes, along with an understanding of MS Office 365.
9. Experience in developing pre-coursework documentation guides for training.
10. Previous experience in a similar L&D role, with a track record of successfully implementing training courses.
11. Ability to think creatively to design engaging and impactful training solutions.
12. Comfortable with experimenting and trying new approaches to make learning more interactive, enjoyable, and effective.
