The Faculty of Engineering and Physical Science is seeking a Senior Administrator to join the Faculty Operating Service. Based in the School of Engineering, you will make an important contribution supporting the Head of Department for the Civil, Maritime and Environmental Engineering (CMEE) department and the academic community, as well as leading a team. Successful applicants will be experienced, motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive team leaders who are culturally sensitive and are able to work effectively in a flexible and collaborative environment.
CMEE is one of four departments within the School of Engineering, which itself is one of the largest and most diverse engineering schools in Europe. The department is one of our larger departments supporting c130 academics and a similar number of PhD students.
As a senior member of our busy administrative team you will provide high level support to the Head of Department and also lead a team to deliver professional and efficient services including operational assistance and administrative support to the academic community, event organisation, financial administration, organising and minuting meetings, and ordering resources. To be successful in this role you will:
Have the ability to build effective and credible working relationships and liaise confidently with senior colleagues
Be adaptable, flexible, proactive and a collaborative team leader, with strong interpersonal skills and a positive and enthusiastic approach
Have excellent line management and organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage workload across a team to meet business requirements
Manage complex processes, analyse and interpret business information and support local governance committees
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and well as up-to-date MS Office skills
