An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Oral and Maxillofacial Laboratory specialist services at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust as a Specialist Orthodontic Technician to cover maternity leave. This role would be ideal for someone who is keen to step into a busy NHS laboratory to maintain its high-quality service.
The successful candidate would be required to have the abilities to design and manufacture the whole range of orthodontic appliances without direction, along with assisting the production of sleep apnoea, trismus, and bite raising appliances. It would also be desirable to have experience in 3D scanning and printing technologies.
Main duties of the job
1. Provides and advises other healthcare professionals relevant to own scope of knowledge within the context orthodontic technology.
2. Organise and prioritise own work according to degree of urgency/need.
3. Liaise with clinical staff and support other technical colleagues within the laboratory.
4. Designs and manufactures all types of Orthodontic and basic prosthodontic appliances, including precision soldering and welding techniques.
5. Contribute to managing the laboratories in-going and out-going work.
