Siemens Mobility are currently recruiting for an Environment Advisor as part of the Environment team for Rolling Stock and Customer Services at Siemens Mobility Limited. Playing a key role in advancing our environmental management and sustainability goals, you will support the EHS division's mission to provide the guidance and tools needed for our depots and facilities to meet environmental objectives in train maintenance and manufacturing.
This hybrid role, based out of any of our depots in Northampton, Southampton, or London, requires regular travel to various sites across the South of England. You will spend a minimum of two days per week on-site, where you'll take the lead in driving the implementation of our environmental strategies.
You’ll make an impact by
* Managing energy and carbon initiatives aligned with the DEGREE framework, ensuring legal compliance, maintaining ISO14001 accreditation, and driving eco-efficiency in areas like carbon reduction, waste, biodiversity, and energy use.
* Leading CSR efforts and collaborating with Environment Champions and HSEW Advisors to enhance sustainability and our environmental impact.
* Practical and technical on-site leadership of the Environmental Improvement Plans.
* Facilitating the development and delivery of the business units environment and environmental sustainability documentation in line with business needs, legislation, and stakeholder requirements.
* Supporting the development and maintenance of the BU’s ISO14001 accreditation and environmental management system (EMS). Implementation of an assurance programme to evaluate compliance against the EMS.
* Analysing BU level environmental data to identify trends and to highlight risks and opportunities.
* Supporting the implementation of Siemens Mobility Environment and Sustainability Strategy.
* Effective development of the environment champion community to share best practice and consistency of approach to environmental management and relevant CSR deliverables.
* Assisting the governance programme led to meet the requirements of our 9001 and 45001 accreditation and providing assurance to our occupational safety management system.
* Remaining cognisant of emerging environmental and relevant sustainability legislation to support the maintenance of our legal and risk register, and commitment to deliver our legal obligations.
* Supporting the maintenance of high quality / tailored environment and sustainability bid responses when requested.
Your success will be grounded by:
* Relevant experience in Energy and Carbon Management or a related environmental field.
* Proven success in Project Management.
* Degree or equivalent in an environmental or relevant field.
* Membership in a relevant professional organization (e.g., PIEMA, MCIWM).
* ISO14001 Lead or Tri Standards Auditor certification is desirable.
* Expertise in specific environmental topics such as Carbon, Biodiversity, or Energy.
* Strong skills in prioritizing tasks using a risk-based approach and managing environmental data for insights.
* Ability to engage effectively across all levels, prepare high-quality documentation, and provide guidance on sustainability issues.
* Actively engaged in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.
