We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our talented team, working on exciting and challenging projects across multiple sectors.
Role Overview:
As a Structural Engineer at WBC Group, you will play a key role in the design, analysis, and delivery of structural engineering solutions for projects from inception to completion. You will collaborate with internal and external architects, contractors, and consultants to ensure that structural designs meet the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and functionality. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including commercial, residential, and public sector developments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and analysis of structural systems for a variety of projects, ensuring safety, functionality, and sustainability.
* Produce detailed structural calculations, designs, and specifications in line with relevant standards and regulations.
* Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other consultants to deliver high-quality structural solutions.
* Ensure projects comply with all local building codes, regulations, and sustainability practices.
* Manage the technical aspects of projects, providing oversight on structural design, coordination, and quality control.
* Contribute to the preparation of bids, proposals, and presentations to support business development efforts.
* Mentor and support junior engineers, offering guidance on technical issues and professional development.
* Attend site meetings and conduct inspections to ensure work complies with the design intent and safety standards.
Skills & Qualifications:
* A degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
* Ideally Chartered status with a recognised professional institution (e.g., ICE, IStructE) or working towards it.
* Minimum of 5 years’ post-graduation experience in structural engineering.
* Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design software (e.g., Tekla, SAP2000, AutoCAD).
* Excellent understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
* A proactive and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
