On behalf of Transport Scotland, we are looking for a Project Manager (Bridges) Inside IR35 for a 6-month contract likely to be extended, based in Glasgow (hybrid with 3 days on site).
The M8 Woodside Manager will manage the day-to-day delivery of the M8 Woodside Project on behalf of Transport Scotland. The current stage of the M8 Woodside project involves delivering the Temporary Propping, with an overall value of around £140m. This stage of the project is expected to complete in early 2026.
As a Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
1. Enabling works, propping progress, co-ordination & delivery
2. Generic & bespoke propping design & delivery
3. Technical support for repair & strengthening design & delivery to Major Projects
4. Stakeholder liaison management, e.g. GCC, SPT, Local businesses, Police
5. AiPs & Design/Check certification
6. Management of Utility protection and diversions
7. TTROs, s56 and Land issues
8. Environmental Management & Community Benefits realisation
9. Input to meetings & technical workshops
10. Governance reporting
11. Gateway & Peer Review support
12. Driving Site progress & delivery programme co-ordination
13. Technical Approval review programme management including Approval in Principle (AIP) for scheme elements and consideration of Departures for Standard & certification
14. Lead on project management meetings & technical workshops
15. Budget oversight for the M8 Woodside
Essential:
1. Experience with projects on bridges
2. Manage client projects
3. Technical approval of design
Qualifications:
1. Chartered civil or structural engineer
