Support Worker
Are you a Support Worker in the outskirts of Cumbria looking for a full-time position starting January 2025 until July 2025?
Tradewind Preston is working in partnership with a 'Good' Alternative Provision in the outskirts of Cumbria to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant/Support Worker/Youth Worker to work within the school's pastoral team. The school is offering two positions with a full year contract.
You will be working with the pastoral team across the school with different year groups ranging from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4.
The most recent OFSTED graded the school as 'Good'. At the Alternative Provision, they aim to ensure that they provide necessary support to improve students' confidence, self-esteem, and enable them to become successful learners in school and prepared for their future working lives.
The ideal candidate for this role will have Team Teaching Training and a minimum of 6 months experience working in an Alternative Provision environment or have worked extensively with learners with SEMH (social, emotional, and mental health needs).
The school has a welcoming team of staff and a strong and well-structured SLT. The school is located on the outskirts of Cumbria, accessible by car with close links to the motorway, with free car parking and easily accessible via public transport.
We are looking for:
1. Excellent communication and behaviour management techniques
2. Teaching Assistant Level or Degree Qualified
3. Support Worker/Youth Worker experience
4. Confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour
5. Experience with supporting SEMH
6. Ability to work as part of a team and independently
Essentials:
1. This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks
2. Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible, and any employment breaks must be explained
3. You must have the legal right to work in the UK
