The Park Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic Paediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our friendly and well-established GMS Practice. The practice already employs a team of ANP/NP with specialist interests. We already employ one Paediatric ANP and are looking to recruit an additional post-holder to support developing services. The successful candidate will provide child and family-focused nursing care in primary care, assessing, planning, developing and implementing care to those attending the doctors' surgery acting as an autonomous practitioner.

Job responsibilities
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Using evidence-based research undertake accurate assessment and management of patients with undifferentiated needs in accordance with evidence-based clinical guidelines, including patients presenting with minor illness and minor injury for paediatric patients.
2. Undertake assessment and management of patients in a timely manner, actively contributing to effective delivery of the service based on demand.
3. Undertake diagnosis and, when applicable, subsequently provide clinical treatment according to extended nurse prescribing formulary.
4. Perform a variety of screening procedures and diagnostic tests as requested or deemed necessary during assessment and offer opportunistic screening when appropriate. This includes the interpretation of radiographs.
5. Prioritise cases and intervene appropriately in urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care.
6. Refer and liaise with other agencies as required, and provide patients and carers with accurate information and advice on a range of health issues.
7. Maintain accurate and contemporaneous records using relevant systems.
8. Act as a role model for staff, providing best practice in all aspects of care, and ensure all aspects of care are carried out in line with agreed policies and procedures. This specifically includes practice relating to safeguarding, medicines management and infection control.
9. Take proactive lead in the children's safeguarding process and systems; working with allied health care professionals across the system.
