Who we are
Chemify is creating a future where the access to important molecules, drugs and new materials currently unimaginable are instantly accessible radically increasing the speed of innovation, quality of life, and reach of humanity. The company is building the infrastructure to digitize chemistry to design, make, and discover new molecules with the desired function and properties instantly and on-demand. Chemify has built a platform that combines purpose-built programming languages, robotics, AI, and the world's largest and continuously growing database of chemical programs to accelerate chemical discovery to new, transformative heights.
Chemify is supported by some of the best investors from Silicon Valley and across the world, including Triatomic Capital, BlueYard ventures, DCVC, Founders Fund, and others.
The role
As Chemify continues to automate all of chemistry, the Senior Hardware Engineer will join an effective product development team focused on quickly building, iterating on, and deploying modern automated systems, robotic platforms, tools, and processes to change the world of Chemistry through automation! The hardware engineer will build upon existing platforms and tools by bringing experience and know-how in advanced mechatronics, fluidics, and commercial grade hardware development to take on a key technical role at the company: guiding design, integration, and decision-making towards the rapid realization of exceptional and custom hardware solutions powering Chemify factories in Glasgow Scotland and across the world. The successful candidate will rely on their track-record in successfully designing, building, testing, and launching high-quality mechatronic and fluidic components or systems with significant impact in a commercial organization. To facilitate your role, Chemify boasts an industry-leading array of prototype manufacturing equipment, including advanced 3D printing technologies, CNC machining, and metal forming. They will bring intensity to sustain the pace needed to ensure the rapid development of the core technology required for the success of an early stage organization.
The Senior Hardware Engineer will have the opportunity to collaborate very closely with Chemists, Cheminformaticians, software engineers, operations experts, management, and other hardware engineers to quickly design, develop, launch, and maintain complex hardware systems within Chemify's world-class solutions dedicated to Chemistry. The successful candidate will have a track record of impactful hardware development: from single parts to functional electro-mechanical assemblies, etc... At this stage of their career, they remain extremely motivated to contribute hands-on and aggressively to the development of a hyper-growth, silicon-valley style start-up by delivering high-quality platforms at a high-pace - in Glasgow, Scotland.
Additionally, the Senior Engineer will have a service mentality to understand the needs of the chemists and the business, and will use it to build high-quality solutions significantly improving short- and long-term performance of the company's laboratory. The ideal candidate will be an established and confident engineer, a smart, enthusiastic, energetic, and ambitious individual excited to contribute to development of the world's best infrastructure for high-throughput chemistry that will eventually handle the world's load of synthesis, at Chemify.
At Chemify we understand that talent comes in many forms, and we encourage applications from all candidates regardless of race, religion, gender identity, age, or disability status to join our diverse and inclusive team.
