About the role This is a senior analytical role involved in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, including long-term planning, for Booker. The role works closely with the wider finance team to co-ordinate, consolidate, analyse and challenge the budgets & forecasts proposed. It will be required to work with the Tesco FP&A team to ensure deadlines are met and queries are answered and resolved. There will also be involvement in some period end reporting activities. The role will be play a key part in driving forward the ongoing FP&A agenda in Booker. Role Responsibility Management and co-ordination of the budgeting & forecasting process including: Preparation of timetables, submission templates and consolidation models. Consolidation, review and analysis of inputs received from the Finance team. Submission of excel templates to Tesco FP&A to required timetable. Preparation of presentations of budget & forecast output for Exec and other meetings. Ongoing improvement and development of budget & forecasting processes and models. Management and co-ordination of the financial submissions for the long-term plan (LTP). Preparation, maintenance and continual improvement of the consolidation model for the LTP financial data. Consolidation, review and analysis of inputs received from the Finance team. Submission of excel templates to Tesco FP&A to required timetable. Involvement in preparation of presentations as required. Ownership for the calculation and reporting of statutory sales. Calculation of periodic statutory sales split between key business areas, identifying LFL movements and splitting between inflation and volume/mix movements. Reporting of statutory sales to Tesco FP&A, including commentary on drivers of variances, via the ‘flash’ process. Preparation of quarterly ‘SIP’ file for submission to Tesco FP&A to be used in the external market reporting. Preparation of the PowerPoint document for verification and sign-off of the Booker numbers and narrative included in the quarterly market reports. Other period end tasks. Reconciliation of the BRP sales between SAP and the sales & margin reports. Allocation of all levels of Commercial Gross for BRP into the brands. Preparation of the indicative P&L by customer & channel including calculation of the cost allocations and input into TM1. Preparation of the periodic sales development slide for the Management Accounts. You will need Experience relevant for this job: Qualified accountant. FP&A experience preferred. Strong communication and presentation skills. Skills relevant for this job Commercial acumen and Know How and Inquisitive. Desire to learn / add value / drive progress. Excellence in building positive relationships, whilst robustly challenging norms. Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills. Strong tech and business analytics skills.
