Job title: Senior Planner & Planning Manager

Salary: £30,000 to £65,000
Hours: 37.5 per week
Role Overview:
My client is looking for two experienced Planners to join their busy Planning department. These hands-on roles involve managing the planning process from site inception to receipt of planning permissions and beyond. You will handle sites ranging from 30 to 200 units and engage in future-land promotion initiatives. Reporting to the Land and Planning Director, this role is ideal for someone with at least 3 years' post-graduate experience in a Planning Consultancy, Local Authority, or Residential Developer.
Key Responsibilities:
* Compile planning applications, conditions, and appeal documentation for submission to Local Planning Authorities.
* Manage the submission of planning applications.
* Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
* Attend Planning Committee Meetings and Public Consultation Meetings.
* Organise and maintain office work systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date computer records.
* Maintain an up-to-date record of Local Planning Authorities' policies and Local Plan Reviews.
* Monitor and review local planning policy, including strategies for transport, the local economy, jobs, green infrastructure, renewable energy, climate change, and the historic environment.
* Conduct research to inform planning applications.
* Negotiate, obtain quotations from, and instruct external engineers and consultants. Collate and maintain evidence from public consultation meetings.
* Liaise with the planning team to understand operational development needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree in urban planning, geography, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Planner or higher.
* Experience addressing the general public, council officers, and committee members in public forums.
* Knowledge of planning processes and regulations.
* Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Collaborative approach with a diverse range of people.
* Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
