In this position, you will play a critical role in delivering an efficient and comprehensive procurement service to the Trust, ensuring compliance with all legal and departmental standards, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), MHRA Rules for Pharmaceutical Distributors, COSHH regulations, Lifting and Handling guidelines, and Trust Policies and Procedures.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in pharmacy procurement, excellent communication abilities, strong initiative, and the capacity to work accurately under tight deadlines. Experience in change management, audit processes, and data analysis is highly desirable, along with proficiency in IT systems, particularly JAC/CMM and Excel.

Responsibilities
The Procurement Technician will play a crucial role in the efficient procurement, storage, and management of pharmaceutical products across Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. Key responsibilities include:
1. Oversee the purchasing of pharmaceuticals to ensure a reliable and compliant supply chain.
2. Support training for new staff, ensuring they are well-prepared for procurement-related roles.
3. Liaise with suppliers to maintain effective relationships, track orders, and resolve any supply issues promptly.
4. Monitor inventory levels, coordinate restocking, and ensure accurate stock records are maintained.
5. Assist in managing the top-up service in collaboration with distribution staff, ensuring wards and departments have sufficient stock.
6. Maintain regulatory documentation and investigate any stock discrepancies for compliance.
7. Provide backup support for distribution when required, facilitating seamless operation across pharmacy services.
The role requires strong organisational and communication skills, with a focus on enhancing the efficiency and reliability of pharmaceutical procurement processes.
