Job Title: SEN Teacher Secondary
Location: Glebedale School, Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: Up to GBP36,925 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a SEN Teacher Secondary to join our close-knit team at Glebedale School located in Stoke-on-Trent.
Responsibilities
1. Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils and young people;
2. Work in accordance with professional practice, statutory and legal requirements and the policies of Glebedale School;
3. Take responsibility for specific areas of work which will be reviewed annually then negotiated and agreed within the performance management cycle and school improvement process;
4. Set appropriate and achievable expectations and targets for pupils;
Knowledge and Understanding
1. Have knowledge and understanding of the school's vision, aims, priorities, targets, curriculum policies and action plans;
2. Any statutory curriculum requirements and the requirements for assessment, recording and reporting of pupils' attainment and progress;
3. The characteristics of high-quality teaching and the main strategies for improving and sustaining high standards of teaching, learning and achievement for all pupils;
4. The implications of the code of practice of special educational needs for teaching and learning.

Glebedale School is a special needs school which provides provision for ages 7 years and upwards. We provide a nurturing and welcoming environment to SEMH pupils, and our curriculum has a keen focus on therapy, education and personal development. Our school aims to help pupils grow academically, socially and emotionally to enable them to become capable future citizens.
We provide education to 30 pupils from the Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire and Cheshire areas. At our last Ofsted in December 2022, we were rated "Good".
