WHAT TO EXPECT This exciting role within JLR’s Product Compliance team provides the opportunity for someone to lead the delivery of Powertrain Certification activities for a selection of our future product lines. Reporting to the Powertrain Certification Manager for EU/GB/UNECE Markets, you will work closely with Propulsion Engineering, Attribute and the wider Product Compliance Teams, as well as external Technical Services, to ensure that each product complies with regulatory requirements and is certified by Type Approval Authorities prior to release. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: • Identify the certification tasks and delivery requirements for JLR products through worst case assessments and agreement with the relevant Approval Authorities and work with internal stakeholders to ensure supporting engineering data is collected in advance of certification testing • Lead the analysis of certification test data and ensure all relevant test related data is shared with the Approval Authorities to support test report and approval creation • Provide support to colleagues and senior management on the implications and impact of current and future legislative requirements and support regulatory discussions with industry bodies such as SMMT and ACEA • Proactively identify and resolve issues that may adversely affect certification delivery timing, ensuring that any impact on sales in minimised. • Support the wider Product Compliance team with the development of internal standards and processes WHAT YOU’LL NEED • Able to demonstrate a substantive and practical knowledge of EU, GB and UNECE Powertrain Certification regulatory requirements, including specific knowledge of:o Tailpipe Emissions & CO2 Testing o Electric Energy Consumption & Electric Vehicle Range Testing o WLTP, NEDC and RDE Test Cycles o Engine and Motor Power Testing o Vehicle Coastdown Testing o EVAPS o OBD o AES-BES documentation o Fleet Average CO2 o Eco Innovations / Off-cycle Technologies o Conformity of Production o EU6e and EU7 standards • Understanding of ICE, MHEV, PHEV and Pure EV vehicle technologies as well as knowledge of Emissions control and Electric vehicle propulsion components critical to certification testing • Able to communicate complex topics simply and effectively and possess meticulous attention to detail • Automotive Engineering Degree qualified or equivalent experience A leading premium automotive business and leading to move towards electric autonomous vehicles.
