NES Fircroft are working alongside a world leader in metallurgical plant solutions and a full-line supplier who are looking to add a Materials Controller to their Sheffield Office. This role is available on a permanent basis.
Main Purpose:
To manage supplier delivery performance for defined projects/orders, ensuring timely delivery. This includes owning the supplier order and coordinating all related activities until delivery.
Responsibilities:
1. Expediting Plans: Develop plans with Procurement, SQM, and stakeholders based on performance data and project risks.
2. Supplier Schedules: Ensure receipt and regular review of suppliers' manufacturing schedules, addressing potential delivery risks.
3. Supplier Visits: Monitor progress through visits and develop countermeasures if necessary.
4. Free Issue Parts & Documentation: Coordinate delivery of parts and ensure quality documentation is reviewed.
5. Progress Tracking: Use IT systems to monitor and communicate project/order statuses.
6. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate order status and address potential delivery risks with stakeholders.
7. Supplier Performance & Relationship Management: Act as the primary contact, manage supplier relationships, and ensure contractual obligations are met.
8. KPIs & Continuous Improvement: Define, monitor, and report KPIs, developing improvement plans to address underperformance.
9. Continuous Improvement: Review and improve processes and systems for cost and time efficiencies.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
1. Planning & Organizing: Structured and organized approach.
2. Production Planning Experience: Familiarity with production planning processes.
3. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail.
4. Communication: Clear communicator, both written and verbal.
5. Priority Setting: Ability to manage high workloads and conflicting demands.
6. Decision Making: Ability to make fast-paced judgements.
7. IT Proficiency: Strong IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office and preferably SAP.
8. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build effective working relationships and take initiative.

Required Experience:
1. Experience in manufacturing, engineering, planning, or expediting roles.
2. Experience working with different cultures.
3. Manufacturing/engineering-related qualifications (desirable but not essential).
Additional Information:
1. Full driving licence required.
2. Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally at short notice.
