We have a full time, vacancy for a Purchasing Manager at our Centre of excellence site in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Hours of work The hours of working Monday to Thursday 8.30am until 5pm and Friday 9am until 12pm (38 hours per week) – flexi time is available. What be you’ll doing In this stand-alone role, your position is pivotal to the supply and procurement of materials and product that enable highly effective and uninterrupted operations of our site. As a fully qualified CIP’s purchasing professional, you are solely responsible for managing the purchasing function. Key accountabilities in doing this include the following: Key negotiator with suppliers with support from relevant department, e.g. Production, Quality and Technical. Present site results on indirect spend for quarterly group/global meetings Contract management – handling the current Contract for Site Services and the associated administration. Review and record site cost savings by updating our internal system with forecast predictions v’s actuals figures. Organize supplier meetings / visits as and when required, including ‘on site’ and ‘at supplier’ premises. Support with open projects as and when required. Regularly update our internal supplier log and closely monitor budgets. Monitor open order reports daily, professionally pursuing suppliers in the event of late orders, updating internal system thereafter. Application of the Fourth Shift (POAN) internal requisition system, for inventory stock ordering. Maintain stock levels and ensure blanket orders are correct for goods inwards. Monitor raw material stocks weekly, ensuring issues are reported to Planning and Production without delay. Ensure all email queries are answered within a timely manner and any issues are resolved to a high standard. Prepare RFQ’s (requests for quotation) professionally and within acceptable timescales, ensuring competitive prices are achieved whilst satisfying customer, regulatory and internal process requirements. This includes group presentations and large tender for 6 or more suppliers. Setting up and monitoring supplier performance score cards KPI’s. Raising purchase orders on approved suppliers for all raw materials, consumables and services, ensuring orders are sent to suppliers in a timely manner. Raise ‘goods return notes’ with the Goods-In department and closely liaise with the supplier. Conduct weekly stationary checks to ensure sufficient office stock. Attend daily and weekly meetings with Production, Finance team and the site Financial Controller. What we need from you? To be successful in this role, you will Be CIP’s Fully Qualified. Consideration will be given to part-qualification. Hold a minimum of 3 years purchasing management experience. Be educated to A-Level / NVQ level in Maths, English. Possess Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, V-Look ups IF-ISERRORS, SUMIF) and strong systems language. A solid technical background is required to satisfy external reporting requirements Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential. Able to read and interpret technical drawings. Strong IT skills with Microsoft PowerPoint SharePoint data management skills are desirable but not essential. Experience with SAP ERP systems (desirable) Proactively resource and achieve cost savings. Possess a high level of attention to detail / Accuracy As this is a stand-alone role, it is essential that you are self-motivated and instinctively use your own initiative. Ability to multi-task, deliver against relevant targets and goals and work to tight deadlines.
