Based at our Headington campus and reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Head of Enterprise applications, data and project delivery will be responsible for the strategic leadership and development of the university’s enterprise applications portfolio, data strategy and for ensuring the creation and implementation of service plans to support the delivery of the Digital Strategy.
IT Services at Oxford Brookes University is a modern, service-oriented environment that is constantly embracing change. You will be joining the team at an exciting time and will be contributing to the implementation of the Digital Strategy (Cloud first approach) which aims to transform university life through the use of digital technologies and services, as well as delivering excellent customer service.
What will I be doing?
- As a member of the IT Services Executive Team, contribute to the development of overall university and IT strategies and policies in alignment with the vision, brand, strategy and distinctiveness of the University and the continued enhancement of the university's reputation;
- Lead the development of the university’s enterprise applications portfolio and data strategy, supporting learning and teaching excellence, world class research and innovation, pioneering external engagement, effective business planning and decision-making;
- Establish effective relationships across the university and with appropriate external agencies;
- Develop forward strategic and development plans (enabled by a Cloud first approach), including prioritisation of initiatives, risk assessments and planned service improvements (including removal of legacy applications);
- Research and make recommendations about software (including AI tools), systems and services in support of organisational needs;
- Delivering analytics to support the implementation of the Brookes Strategy 2035 and enabling data driven decision-making.
What skills do I need?
- Substantial proven experience and strong track record at a senior level in defining and delivering enterprise applications and data strategy in a large complex environment;
- Solid understanding of IT software environments, standards, trends and markets;
- Solid understanding of Cloud, AI, big data, data analytics and integration technology;
- Experience in strategic enterprise applications portfolio planning, execution, and change management;
- Proven experience of managing the challenges involved in development and delivering a complex programme of IT and related business change projects;
- Substantial experience of managing large multi-disciplinary teams.
