Role and Responsibilities:
As Nursery Manager, you will take a dual role, spending your time in the rooms working directly with children and in a non-room-based capacity, overseeing the nursery and guiding your team. Key responsibilities include:
1. Room-Based: Working hands-on in the rooms to support children’s learning and development, ensuring each classroom is a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
2. Non-Room-Based: Overseeing the nursery’s daily operations, supporting staff, and implementing policies to ensure our nursery meets Ofsted standards and best practices in early years education.
3. Inspiring a Learning-Rich Environment: Leading by example to inspire staff to create engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that meet each child’s unique needs.
4. Team Support and Development: Providing guidance, mentorship, and training opportunities for staff, fostering a collaborative, motivated, and highly skilled team.
5. Family and Community Engagement: Building trusting relationships with families, addressing their needs, and engaging with them in their child’s learning journey.
6. Safeguarding and Compliance: Ensuring that all practices align with safeguarding requirements, health and safety regulations, and Ofsted guidelines to provide a secure, caring environment for children.
Requirements:
1. Minimum Level 3 Early Years (UK equivalent) qualification
2. Previous experience in a management or senior role within an early years setting
3. Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding practices
4. Passion for making a positive difference for children and families
Working Hours
36 hours per week, spread over 4 days between Monday to Friday based on the Nursery needs during our opening hours 7.30am-6.30pm.
