Job Description Our Analysis team in Hartlepool are seeking additional Analysis Engineers to join their busy analysis team based in Hartlepool. The focus of this role is product analysis which typically includes performing and/or reviewing mechanical, thermal, and electromagnetic analyses of umbilicals and cables, and associated hardware. This will be done to JDR and industry standard guidelines and will include the production of associated reports, calculations, and procedures. Reporting to and working closely with experienced analysis engineers, there will also be the opportunity to be involved in the development of analysis methods, software and design tools and their implementation within the Technology, Engineering and Analysis teams. Your main duties will be to: Perform analysis of cable and umbilical products for specific projects studies to evaluate if designs are fit for purpose Undertake investigations of alternative designs, configurations or hardware devices when required Present findings and demonstrate solutions to project challenges Generate reports, instructions, procedures, specifications, calculations, etc. associated with the analysis of umbilical and cable products. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders Progress work tasks you are assigned, often with challenging timescales, to endeavour to meet project schedules for on time delivery, with a core focus on quality and integrity Develop analysis methodologies and support their implementation within the department, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the team and of the business Contribute and participate in the development, improvement, and implementation of company procedures and systems as necessary Assist in the development of analysis rules, procedures, specifications, and tools associated with analysis of the umbilical and cable product to ensure traceability and consistency of methodology and continuous improvement Analyse and comment on customer requirements and specifications to facilitate timely execution of analysis and prevent downstream process delays Ability to clearly specify data and requirements to support any subcontracted analysis workscopes to meet client delivery and / or to support tendering team queries for manufacturing or FEED opportunities Job Requirements With previous experience of Finite Element Analysis, you will be educated to degree level or equivalent. Experience in umbilical, cable, flexible or rigid pipeline design, mooring or floating platform design, and/or installation engineering/analysis would be advantageous. Experience of FEA software packages including Orcaflex, COMSOL, mechanical FEA packages or similar tools would be advantageous but is not essential. As an Analysis Engineer you will have an aptitude with mathematical software and problem solving. Proficiency in programming using Python or a similar language would be advantageous. You will be a strong team player, with the ability to successfully multi-task, confidently manage your own workload and competing demands on your time. With strong communication skills, you will have proven experience of writing technical reports in English. The position would either work full time from our Maritime House office in Hartlepool, or if you desire work on a hybrid basis; with days spent in the office each week and working from your home office the remainder of the week.
