1. Are you wanting to settle in to a practice were you can build relationships with both your clients and your team?
2. Do you want to work in a practice where your voice is heard and change implemented to help benefit the team?
If you’ve answered yes to these questions, we may have the job for you!
Who we are:
We are a growing practice that opened in the summer of 2016. We have built the practice up from a client base of zero to over 4000 active clients, and offer modern facilities with all the standard equipment you would expect from a general practice (including dental x-ray).
We are a close knit team of five experienced Vets, a Practice Manager, RVN’s, SVN’s, VCA’s and admin staff, and we are proud of our low staff turnover. Our large nurse:vet ratio means we utilise our nurses to their full potential; they run a range of chargeable clinics and perform a variety of schedule 2 procedures.
We know we aren’t perfect, but is any team? We are working to create a good work:life balance for our staff and constantly strive to create a better environment in practice, and encourage everyone to be honest when we don’t get it right. We don’t want anyone taking problems home with them and are open for ideas on how we can improve both in a non-clinical and clinical setting.
We believe we have grown and will continue to grow by building close relationships with our clients and their pets. We like to work to a high standard but will always work with our clients to provide the care that is right for them.
About you:
We are looking for someone who wants to work at building relationships within our team (we understand not everyone wants to be best mates with their colleagues, but being comfortable in your work environment and with the people you will be seeing on a daily basis is important to us).
As we are already a team of experienced vets you don’t need to be a top level surgeon as we can help you to build your abilities and confidence. You will have a large nursing team available so we want you to respect their valuable knowledge and make the most of their skills. You will be a team player who will help to motivate the team to learn, develop and therefore grow as a practice.
You will have a positive attitude to work and a methodical approach to the running of your day - you will be able to manage your time and priorities to ensure you get the work done. We don’t want someone who will work themselves into the ground, because if you crack, no one is a winner. Instead we want someone who loves being a vet and understands with that job role comes a lot of work, but also realises that there is more to life than a job.
You will want to develop trusting relationships with our clients to help guide them in understanding the right decisions to make when treating and caring for their pet. We want someone to maintain the bonds that we have already developed with our clients, whether that’s discussing their pets vaccinations or their child’s performance at school! We believe that bond is crucial.
The Role:
1. Set shift pattern but some flexibility with the rota to make it work for us all
2. Weekday vet hours are 8:30-19:30
3. Weekend hours are Saturday 9:00-16:00, Sunday 10:00-16:00
4. No OOH (covered by a local independent practice 24h hospital)
The Perks:

6. 28 days holiday (rising to 33 days after 2 years)
7. CPD allowance, certificates considered
8. Overtime paid for time worked over contracted hours
9. Income protection over 1 year service
10. AXA private healthcare for a small contribution
11. RCVS/BVA/BSAVA/VDS
12. 20% discount in Vets4Pets, Pets at Home and The Groom Room

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
