Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist (LARC Fitter) to join the Sexual Health Services team at Garden Clinic, Upton Hospital on an agency basis. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centred care, specializing in Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) fitting and removal. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to promote reproductive health, well-being, and choice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide specialist nursing care, advice, and support to patients attending the clinic for LARC fittings and removals.
2. Conduct comprehensive assessments, including medical history, to determine suitability for LARC methods.
3. Fit and remove Intrauterine Devices (IUDs) and Implants, in accordance with national guidelines and best practices.
4. Provide education and counselling on reproductive health, contraception, and sexual health, promoting informed choice and decision-making.
Requirements:
1. Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
2. Specialist qualification in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) or equivalent (mandatory).
3. Trained in fitting and removing Intrauterine Devices (IUDs) and Implants (mandatory).
4. Knowledge of reproductive health, including contraception, pregnancy, and sexual health (mandatory).
5. Experience working in a sexual health or reproductive health setting (desirable).
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
8. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage a caseload.
Band 7 Requirements (in addition to the above):
1. Advanced clinical skills and knowledge in LARC fitting and removal.
2. Experience in leading and managing a team, or willingness to take on leadership responsibilities.
3. Ability to develop and implement service improvements, guidelines, and policies.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and inform service development.
