Reporting directly to the Engineering Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the Site Services operation and Workshop Management of this busy turnkey operation. You have a 2IC, who will oversee and plan the daily operation of the workshop alongside you, and overall lead a team of up to 10 and growing.
This newly created role, overseeing the north island workshop and site services team, is designed to grow the service and support of our client's turkey bulk materials handling products and international partners machines through technical service, auditing, upgrades and parts across NZ, Australia, and the Pacific islands.
You will be working collaboratively within a team of engineers who design and deliver innovative and market-leading engineered solutions for the industry. Your role will be to take care of the bespoke customer base post project installation, providing long-term technical support, upgrades, machine compliance, and servicing to the wider client base. This role will see you propelling the service side of this business forward throughout the South Island through excellent client management skills and service planning.
Responsibilities
* Build strong & open relationships with clients, sub-contractors & suppliers, ensuring future relationships.
* Day to Day Supervision, Resourcing, Maintenance planning & Support across the Auckland mechanical team. Your customer base is Waikato to Northland.
* Ensure that all project deliverables meet the required quality standards.
* Provide on-site installation, validation, training, and commissioning of instruments.
* Develop a high-functioning collaborative team that adds to our winning culture.
* Plan, organize, and manage the site activities and resources, including staff, equipment, and materials.
* Foster a continuous improvement culture, with a zero-harm attitude & a drive to hit HSE KPIS.
Skills & Experience
* Mechanical / Engineering Trade with minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership position.
* Strong administrative & record keeping skillset with the ability to use a range of software/CRM.
* Proven experience within a mechanical service/mechanical contractor/site-based position (preference to heavy industry, bulk materials handling, or large scope manufacturing leadership).
* Ability to cope with frequent and varied tasks, always maintaining good working relationships, solutions-oriented & fostering a collaborative culture.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. This role deals with all stakeholders internally and externally. It is a customer-facing role designed to increase the flow of service work to your trades team.
* Sound knowledge of Mechanical (and or Fabrication) Engineering disciplines.
* Experience within a LEAN environment is a bonus.
* You are customer-centric and solutions-oriented, a natural relationship builder.
