Job Purpose
We’re recruiting a careers advisor to join our amazing national careers service team.
Are you passionate about working with people and being part of their journey to find a suitable employment and to progress their careers but don't have a level 4 CIAG (Certification in Information and Guidance) qualification? As long as you are willing to undertake this qualification, we'd love to hear from you.
As a Careers Advisor you'll make our participants feel welcome and comfortable when they're first referred to our programme. You'll need to be able to engage with clients from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences and hold 1-1 and group-based learning sessions in a wide range of settings, including careers events and job fairs’.
Our ideal candidate might come from a background where they have had experience in gaining trust - a teacher or sales person, someone who has had experience in delivering careers advice. You will have an engaging personality and be comfortable with working with a diverse group of people.
You will need to use your skills to empower and encourage participants to create a career skills action plan and support them in their learning and development.

Role Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Meet and strive to exceed personal performance targets.
To develop a careers skills action plan, providing tailored support to meet the needs of the clients career management and progression.
Ensure that quality & compliance standards are met.
Working with customers on a one-to-one and / or group delivered basis providing careers information, advice and guidance to support customers in nominated geographical areas.
To work with a variety of organisations developing and maintain good relationships and a positive networks to generate customer referrals
Record all interactions with customers on the MI database in a timely manner to meet contractual deadlines.
To monitor and report on performance via internal and contracted systems as required, reporting to Area Manager.
Excellent Communication and Customer Service skills.
Good level of IT competency.
An understanding of and commitment to promoting safeguarding, prevent, equality and diversity.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential Qualifications: Working towards or having:
Ideal Qualifications:
5 GCSEs including English and Maths.
You will need to obtain a Level 4 Diploma in Advice and Guidance – full training will be provided.
