Job Title: Tutor & Accreditation Lead
Reporting to: Programme manager – Apprenticeships
Accountable to: Director of Learning
Role Purpose
As the subject matter expert, provide strategic advice, guidance, and oversight of accreditation activities to the Programme Director, Programme Manager(s), and wider Learning Team for all accredited programmes. Responsible for overseeing and providing Quality Assurance to the activities undertaken by the wider delivery team (or contracted services), including the assessment and supervision of learners. Contribute to curriculum and programme development. Be a key player in the development of the SAR, internal audits, and external inspections. Play an active role in the design and delivery of programmes and new products.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Quality Assurance, Compliance & Strategic Approach
* Create and update organisational policies and procedures to align with accreditation standards and internal audits and external inspections.
* Oversee and ensure adherence to accreditation requirements; provide timely guidance and training to staff and associates on compliance and accreditation changes.
* Ensure suitable auditable documentation management processes are in place with comprehensive records across all programmes responsible for ensuring all Tutors and Assessors maintain accurate records of learner progress, assessments, and feedback.
* As the subject matter expert, lead standardisation meetings to ensure consistency in assessment and delivery, identify changes, and apply suitable solutions.
* Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance organisational and learner experience, in line with accreditation standards and supervision of learners.
* Work closely with learners, employers, and other stakeholders to enhance learning outcomes.
* Represent Solace in accreditation matters at meetings, networks, and events.
* Provide consultancy advice to clients looking to implement qualifications for their staff.
* Develop and update training materials, case studies, and assessment resources in line with qualification updates.
* Incorporate leadership development tools, best practices, and real-life examples into training.
* Stay informed about developments in leadership and management education, qualifications, and apprenticeship standards.
Tutor, Assessor and Learner Development
* Design and deliver engaging and interactive training sessions on accredited courses, ensuring alignment with qualification standards.
* As Lead Tutor, induct new tutors and provide guidance, support, and development to Tutor and Assessment team.
* Assess learners' work against qualification competency frameworks, providing detailed feedback and developmental guidance.
* Through structured support enable learners to apply theoretical leadership concepts to real-world workplace challenges.
* Lead on SEND process and application across accredited programmes.
* Monitor individual learner progress, ensuring they remain on track to complete their qualification successfully.
* Identify suitable future pathways for Solace Alumni to further support learner(s)’ career and professional development post-accredited programmes.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* CMI /ILM Qualification (Level 5 or above) in Leadership & Management (or equivalent experience and knowledge).
* Teaching, Training, or Assessing Qualification (e.g., PTLLS, AET, TAQA, or equivalent).
* Chartered Manager CMI or ILM status (desirable).
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience of delivering and assessing ILM/CMI Leadership & Management qualifications.
* Sufficient and relevant experience in leadership, management, or executive coaching.
* Demonstrable knowledge of Ofsted Inspection Framework and inspection process.
* Experience working with professionals and corporate clients in leadership development.
* Knowledge of CMI/ILM assessment and quality assurance processes.
* Strong coaching and mentoring abilities to support professional development.
* Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
* Experience of managing teams including Tutors and Assessors.
* Ability to assess and provide constructive feedback in line with CMI/ ILM criteria.
* Strong organizational and record-keeping skills for learner tracking and compliance.
* Proficiency in using online Learner Management Systems.
* Knowledge and experience of working with Local Government colleagues desirable.
