Gastrointestinal Services The gastrointestinal service encompasses medical and surgical gastroenterology along with endoscopy and stoma care. In-patient gastroenterology services are based on Castle ward, a 25 bedded General Medical/Gastroenterology ward. Castle has a heavy bias towards Gastroenterology. The ward operates a self-admission policy for patients known to the unit with specific gastrointestinal problems (IBD, chronic liver disease, GI malignancy in particular). Out-patient gastroenterology is spread between the Warwick and Stratford sites with a progressive move towards specialisation (e.g. IBD clinic, hepatology, viral hepatitis, two-week wait, coeliac/nutrition clinic). We have a continuing commitment to developing patient education programmes in IBD and chronic liver disease. Please see job description for indicative job plan
