Main Purpose of the Key Account Manager:
The main purpose of this role is to promote and sell the range of machinery and products within the dealership territory to new and existing customers. This is a customer-facing role which requires you to build strong relationships within the construction sales sector of the business. You will need to promote and present solutions to our customers and frequently liaise with the company to ensure you provide a first-class level of customer service.
Main Responsibilities of the Key Account Manager:
1. Build strong and positive relationships with the customer base
2. Build and document knowledge about customers’ businesses and technical setup
3. Feedback any important customer information to the Company
4. Prepare customer quotations for machinery via the software system/ Salesmaster iPad Application and include additional options for:
1. Service / R & M Contracts
2. Attachments suitable to the application & machine
3. Finance
4. Insurance
5. To carry out full appraisals on used equipment
6. Complete full machine specifications to meet the customer requirements on all orders, including all relevant customer information
7. To include any machine Attachment requirements to meet the customers’ needs
8. Carry out on-site machine demonstrations and installations
9. Increase the company’s construction sales and profitability in line with objectives
10. Responsible for the monitoring of customer account facility status and collection of payments
11. Update the CRM system to enable accurate forecasting
12. To meet and exceed customer service expectations
13. Establish and maintain good levels of communication within and outside the business
14. Complete all administration accurately and in a timely manner
15. Contribute to the overall success through teamwork and good communication within the company
16. Appropriate reporting to management
17. Carry out all work practices in line with company health and safety policy and adhere to all company policies in accordance with the Company handbook terms and conditions of employment
18. Any other duties as deemed necessary to fulfil the role
Work experience requirements of the Key Account Manager:
1. Proven track record of sales within the Material Handling sector or similar industry
2. Excellent commercial awareness and customer problem solving
3. Ability to follow your customer’s buying decisions and needs
4. Proven track record of customer sales call planning and forecasting
5. Skilled in sales questioning for successful outcomes
6. Proven track record of consultative selling techniques
7. Good team work capable of delivering results under pressure and to strict deadlines
8. Quality focused
9. Sincere, reliable, trustworthy and a good time keeper
10. Ability to work on own initiative, multitask and handle several customer demands at any given moment
11. Adept in efficient communication at all levels – verbally, in print and on the telephone
12. Professional, positive, co-operative and flexible at all times
13. Ability to be motivated and customer focused
14. Clean driving licence and good driving record
15. Full driving Fork Lift Truck driving licence - desirable
