We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Asset Management Team as Resorts and Events Support. Your role: The post holder will join the Resort Team to support customer-focussed duties relating to Beach Huts in Felixstowe and to assist with the permission service which allows Events to be held on council-owned land in the East Suffolk district. The role requires an agile working approach, practicality and the ability to positively represent our Beach and Event-space assets throughout the year. It requires a committed and responsible approach to deliver the service needs. Day-to-day, the work will include a variety of tasks including beach site visits, inspections, recording and monitoring, customer-facing activities, use of web-based booking/application systems, checking and preparing facilities for and after hire, and using your own initiative to resolve issues arising and follow response processes. Events work will include site visits, inspections, recording and monitoring, customer-facing and web-based system use. Please note, the role will include weekend working as part of standard week. The post holder will be required to attend to suit bookings (events and hut hire) throughout the year with highest demand during main season. The role will include site visits and the post holder will require the ability to respond to attend site in Felixstowe area in under 1hour for the delivery of the service. The hours are changeable over the year to meet the seasonal demands of the role. Working hours per week are variable with an average working week of 32hrs per week. 32hrs forms the basis of the regular salary. It is anticipated greater hours would be worked May – September and lesser hours works October – April. Working days will include Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday. Bank holiday working will also apply. Place of work: Registered office East Suffolk House, Melton. Remote working will also apply (equipment provided). What you will need: The successful candidate will be flexible to respond to the demands and requirements of the seasonal services represented by the service area and have excellent communication skills, care, attention to detail and accuracy. An understanding of tourism or customer service delivery. The post holder will be able to act on instructions and be able to organise and prioritise own work responsibilities in the interest of the service area. The candidate will have obtained 5 GCSE’s A – C grade. The successful applicant will have their own transport (essential car user allowance will apply) and be able to work actively and responsively to deliver the service. It will a combination of site-based working, some office and some home working. Some lone working will also apply.
