We are seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor with expertise in commercial build and JCT contract experience, as well as fitout experience, to join our client's team on an exciting and challenging leisure centre project. Key Responsibilities: Cost Management: Oversee the entire cost management process for the leisure centre project, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and reporting. JCT Contracts: Manage the procurement and administration of JCT contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions while mitigating risks. Contract Administration: Manage all aspects of contract administration, including valuations, variations, and claims, ensuring that all financial aspects of the project are accurately recorded and reported. Value Engineering: Collaborate with the design and construction teams to identify and implement cost-effective solutions, ensuring the project is delivered within budget. Client & Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure clear communication and the timely resolution of issues related to project costs and financial matters. Reporting: Produce regular financial reports, including cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and risk assessments, to senior management and clients. Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess progress and identify potential risks, providing advice on any changes in cost or program that may arise during construction and fitout phases. Procurement: Manage the tendering process, including the preparation of bills of quantities, obtaining quotes, and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers. Essential Skills and Experience: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the commercial build sector, particularly in managing JCT contracts. Experience in the fitout industry, with a strong understanding of the specific challenges it presents in terms of cost management. Excellent knowledge of construction contracts, cost estimation, and procurement processes. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment. Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (or equivalent experience). RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) qualification is desirable but not essential. Personal Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstratable commercial acument.
