We are looking for an outstanding teacher to join us for maternity cover, who is motivated and committed to the success and well-being of their students. If you can bring Health and Social Care to life in a way that engages, inspires, and leads to high achievement, then you will be successful here at NHC.
You will join a team who have self-assessed as Outstanding to develop and deliver dynamic learning programmes that meet the needs of learners and utilise a diverse range of teaching and learning strategies. You will plan and deliver Health and Social Care to a group setting to learners of varying abilities.
About the Organisation:
The College operates across three main campuses in Stevenage and Hitchin, employing over 650 staff. With a turnover of £30m, the college provides learning opportunities to over 10,000 students each year from study programmes for 16-18 year olds and apprenticeships through to adult provision locally, regionally, and nationally. We were judged Good by Ofsted at our last inspection in December 2023, with outstanding features.
With state-of-the-art T-Level facilities including a brand new mock hospital ward to replicate a real-life hospital setting, set out to NHS standards from the equipment and beds used, right down to the clearance zones between each bay. We also have a new mock Independent Living Space designed to emulate an assisted living flat. This area is fitted with a range of accessible technologies including a hoist, so our learners can get hands-on, vocational experience using these tools ahead of working in industry. We have over 150 study programme students, including T levels in Adult Nursing and work closely with employers locally to develop, design, and deliver our programmes. We are proud of our care academy that we run with Lister Hospital to develop employability skills for those entering health settings.
We are a team of 12 staff and are proud of the quality of our provision. In 23/24, our achievement rates were 90%.
You will be responsible for delivering level 2 and 3 programmes BTEC and GATEWAY.
The Hart Learning Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, as our posts are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013, and 2020. It is also an offence to apply for a role if you have been barred from working with children, young people, and vulnerable adults. If you have been shortlisted for a role and are within the guidelines of KCSIE, an online search will be carried out to identify any incidents or issues that have happened and are publicly available online. If any incidents or issues are identified, the Group might want to explore these with you at the interview. As part of the recruitment process, you will need to provide proof of your right to work in the UK.
