Based in Manchester, we are currently recruiting for a Project Manager on a permanent basis to join our developing projects team. The role of Project Manager will be responsible for the coordination, control, customer interface, monitoring and reporting, and overall management of any number of contracts to achieve customer requirements in a timely manner while ensuring profitable returns. Time management and communication are key responsibilities to achieving success as a team and individually as a project engineer at EDM.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Effectively liaise with customers (internal and external) at the inception of an enquiry and determine the technical and commercial requirements.
2. Provide the necessary support and assistance to ensure estimates are produced in a detailed and accurate manner using EDM processes and practices.
3. Review and check estimates and provide appropriate feedback to ensure they are commercially competitive and provide a win-win situation for EDM and the customer.
4. Drive adherence to Project Gateway milestones on all contracts.
5. Agree spend on your projects by countersigning requisitions.
6. Maintain notes and records during the execution of your projects to support lessons learned opportunities.
7. Maintain and update the contract file for all projects, ensuring all documentation is recorded and quality procedures adhered to.
8. Liaise and provide support to the customer throughout the life of the project.
9. Produce schedule using MS Project for all projects under your control, to communicate target dates and milestones for successful delivery.
10. Aim to deliver all projects under your control to the customers’ requirements of quality, schedule, and cost.
11. Support the flow of information during the lifecycle of your projects to ensure the right information is delivered to the right person, liaise with both the client and production to achieve the end goal and drive the project to a close.
12. Promote the best interests of EDM at all times, uphold integrity in all interactions with the customer, and do not make misleading statements.
13. Development and creation of customer documentation as required by the contract.
Key Requirements
1. A relevant engineering / technical / project qualification.
2. Proven effective project engineering and planning experience.
3. Highly developed and effective problem-solving, with technical skills.
4. The ability to articulate project and program reporting information.
5. General mechanical & electrical knowledge would be preferred.
6. Knowledge of reading mechanical / electrical drawings would be advantageous.
7. Military experience with a technical background is preferred.
8. Ability to achieve UK security clearance is essential.
9. Due to the nature of the client contract, candidates must be a UK national; no dual nationality will be permitted.
10. Be willing to work at customer sites within the UK and overseas.
