The Role:
The role itself will consist of all aspects of Train Cleaner duties. This can include exterior cleaning, interior cleaning, hoovering the floors, inspecting/maintaining toilets, cleaning graffiti and more. There is one cleaner per 3 or 4 carriages, meaning you will be working in a team of 4 at most times.
Your key focus will be cleaning the Southern Trains fleet which serve the Surrey & Sussex areas.
The depot itself is relatively large in its presence with a requirement to be physically fit to move around the depot with no restrictions.
The Hours:
Hours wise, it is a night shift role which has a roster pattern as stated below:
Monday/Friday with a requirement to work one weekend every two weeks. When you work on the weekend, you will be given a rest day during the week to make up for it. You will do five shifts across seven nights every week.
Remuneration & Benefits:
This rail company has on offer the following for contract staff:
• £15.76p/h rate, this will rise to £15.91p/h on week 13 as part of agency worker rights (AWR)
• Overtime is available at the Manager’s discretion
• Progression routes – Our client is hiring into their business on a permanent basis after an initial phase on a 6-month contract.
Requirements:
• Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
• Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment
• Happy to help mentality/attitude, someone who is proactive, can think for themselves
• A decent fitness is needed as the site is very large and will involve a lot of walking, so please keep this in mind when applying
