Your Impact and Responsibilities Lead and motivate Transport Team Managers and their teams to achieve operational excellence. Collaborate with internal teams such as Stock Control, Transport, and HR to ensure smooth operations. Manage and control budgets, delivering continuous improvement in KPIs. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety protocols and all relevant regulations. Support team members' development with effective coaching and personal development plans. Work with external partners, including contractors and suppliers, to ensure efficiency and productivity. Take ownership of the distribution centre when required in the absence of senior managers. Drive process improvements and implement solutions to meet operational challenges. Ensure vehicles are loaded safely and dispatched on time, working closely with the Transport Manager. Skills and Knowledge Educated to A-level or equivalent, with a solid background in FMCG distribution. Proven leadership skills with experience managing large teams in a distribution environment. Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and distribution operations. Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and deliver cost-effective solutions. Proficiency in time management, prioritisation, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced setting. Experience with systems such as Time and Attendance, Vitesse, and WMS. Good communication and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative work environment. A hands-on approach, working alongside your team to inspire and achieve results.
