The team The Community Paediatric and Neurodisability service provides assessment and support for children and young people who have, or are suspected of having, a range of developmental and neurodevelopmental conditions. This role seeks to enhance the offer we have for young people undergoing a neurodevelopmental assessment for conditions including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD ), autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and foetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). This role will include the following: The post holder will provide support to the multi-disciplinary team completing assessment as part of our school-age neurodevelopmental assessment pathway. The post-holder will assist with information gathering in order to support the neurodevelopmental assessment pathway. The post holder will be responsible for organising and delivering the QB clinic. A QB test is a computer based test that combines attention and impulse control measurements with activity recordings collected by an infra-red camera. The results are compared with a group of children /young people of the same age and gender, who do not have ADHD. As part of an overall assessment, QB test results provides valuable objective information to help determine if a child or young person has ADHD or not. This role will also include signposting support to young people and families whilst they are awaiting further assessment. The work will take place in conjunction with or under the supervision of a range of professionals to ensure the most appropriate care & support is delivered to young people and families. Work will primarily take place at RDUH Wonford but travel to other localities may be required. Working Pattern: We care for our patients around the clock so we will need you to work a range of shift patterns. These range from short shifts, day shifts between 8am and 8pm and 12.5-hour day and night shifts with an hour break in the ward areas. Please do check this at your interview.
