The Younity – Hub at Wilfred Spencer offer a day opportunity for adults with learning disabilities to be involved in activities either centre based our in the local community. Experience of supporting people with a learning disability is required. We work to maximise the opportunities, choices, and independence for all service users we support with a non-judgemental approach. Our goal is to provide a high standard of care for everyone who accesses the service promoting dignity, respect, and independence always. You will be a Senior Support Assistant providing line management support to your team. You will hold regular supervision sessions, support and manage staff absence within the Coventry City Councils enabling attendance procedure. Our approach is all about the people we support, you will design activities planners for the week, oversee the updating and implementation of outcome focused support plans, complete risk assessments and positive handling plans, undertake audits and health safety building checks. You will undertake team meetings and have the skills to liaise with other health care professionals including families' carers and parents. You will need to be motivated and skilled and have a caring nature. Within this role you will be working together with other staff to develop run and deliver plans for meaningful activities, inclusive for all in the local community. We are currently recruiting for x 1 post This Post is 18.5 hrs per week, over 3 days Core hours for day opportunities services are between 8:30 - 15:30 Interview date(s): will be 19th February 2025 at Younity -Hub Wilfred Spencer Building where you will complete a 30 minute on site exercise followed by a face to face interview held on site. You’ll need A minimum formal qualification of NVQ level 2 or Diploma 2 in health social care level is required to apply for this post and be committed to working towards Diploma level 3 in health and social care or equivalent committed to achieving this within the agreed timescales from appointment to the post. Experience with working with adults with learning disabilities. To work with the support coordinator to ensure all service user's outcomes have been met. To work with the support coordinator to develop the service area. A willingness to develop lead and mentor staff in small groups or alone with service users. Be physically able to carry out assessed manual handling, including hoisting, and pushing wheelchairs if necessary.
