Job Description
THE TEAM
ASOS is one of the UK's top fashion and beauty destinations, expanding globally at a rapid pace. Our values are to be authentic, brave, and creative, and we live and breathe these in everything we do.
The Design Team looks for inspiration all around the world, along with street style, vintage shopping, music, art, the catwalk, and all things creative, to design the latest product for the range. It's all about newness and finding and designing the most exciting product for our 20-something customer.
You'll be...
1. Supporting to create and curate a diverse and trend-driven range that caters to the 20-something customer and is technically built for purpose.
2. Using your trend-driven expertise to introduce new fashion concepts across all intimates categories, ensuring we lead the market with innovative, fashion-forward design.
3. Identifying key shapes for the season, colour, fabric, and building a range which offers choice for our global customer base.
4. Working with the technical team on initial fits, building technical knowledge to help identify and problem solve for the department.
5. Building relations with suppliers and advising factories on direction, construction, key details, materials, and trims.
6. Understanding and reacting to sales information and designing commercially relevant fashion-forward ranges.
7. Adhering to the critical path to achieve deadlines, ensuring product is developed for the relevant and optimum selling period.
Qualifications
We'd love to meet someone with...
1. Passion for fashion and immersion in trends; a fashion-forward eye is key.
2. Previous experience in designing for an aspirational brand or similar high street retailer.
3. Previous experience in designing lingerie, swimwear, beach, nightwear, and lounge.
4. Previous experience of working with Far East, European, and UK suppliers.
5. Preferred skills in Photoshop, Adobe, CAD, PLM, and hand sketching.
6. Experience with executing tech packs and sketches for product development for intimates categories, i.e., lingerie, nightwear, swim, beach, and lounge.
7. The ability to build great relationships with colleagues across the business and suppliers alike.
8. Time management skills, understanding priorities based on critical path and cross-departmental needs.
9. Ability to identify product opportunities and help drive the brand forward.
10. Willingness to travel in the UK and internationally as required, for supplier meetings and inspiration/development trips.
