Marketing Coordinator

We’re looking for a talented and creative Marketing Coordinator to join us and support the Marketing Manager in developing compelling content and communications across all marketing channels.
Marriage’s has been milling flour in Chelmsford, Essex since 1824. As a family business, we’re proud of our 200-year heritage, but we’re also forward thinking - we combine technology and tradition to produce expertly milled flour for Britain’s artisan bakeries, chefs and home bakers.
We’d like someone who is a foodie and likes baking. Someone who is as happy meeting a farmer supplier in their wheat field to visiting an artisan bakery to capture some content. Not only will you be creative and have great communication skills, but we’re also looking for a superb eye for detail, whether that’s in creating a brief for one of our designers or writing content for social. We’re a small team, so you’ll need to be able to organise your own time effectively and be happy to get involved with varying projects.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the creation, filming and/or briefing of video and photography content for socials and other channels
2. Support in briefing our marketing agency on monthly social content plans and campaigns
3. Responsible for updating website content in line with SEO recommendations
4. Briefing and liaising with designers and agencies on artwork and projects
5. Supporting trade customers by providing images, advert artwork and information
6. Undertaking industry and trends research including social community insights to share with the sales team
7. Drafting copy and sourcing images for marketing collateral including trade/consumer customer e-newsletters
8. Compiling monthly data/analytics on marketing activity and performance
9. Coordinating brand presence at and attending customer and industry events
10. Responsible for collating/creating and publishing content for internal communications campaigns
11. Owning and updating the marketing calendar and other admin support
Qualifications required:
Degree level education/apprenticeship, ideally in English/Humanities, Marketing or Business, or equivalent work experience
Essential experience:
1. Experience in traditional and digital marketing
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
3. Social media content creation
4. Coordinating external providers, including agencies and designers
5. Copy writing, editing and proof-reading
6. Awareness of artisan food brands
7. MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Desired experience:
1. Product / food marketing experience
2. Content management systems and CRM
3. Familiar with tools such as Canva or Adobe Suite
4. Familiar with Mailchimp or similar email platforms
Additional requirement:
Driving licence – to visit customer sites and attend events
Hours of work:
Monday to Friday, 0830 - 1700 hours, 37.5 hours per week. May include occasional weekends or evenings for events or staying away overnight if visiting customers.
