Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Salary: £30,411 FTE per annum
Annual Leave: 31 days per annum (excluding bank holidays and up to 3 additional discretionary days over the Christmas/New Year period)
As our Skills and Employability Coach, you will deliver engaging and learner-centred education to unemployed adults, focusing on qualifications up to Level 2. The role aims to equip learners with essential digital skills, employability skills, and vocational knowledge across sectors such as warehousing, care, teaching, and manufacturing.
The post holder will oversee internal quality assurance (IQA) processes to ensure the delivery and assessment meet both internal and external standards.

Responsibilities of our Skills and Employability Coach:
Teaching and Learning: Plan and deliver innovative, learner-centred sessions in digital skills, employability, and vocational subjects. Assess and monitor learner progress, providing constructive feedback to ensure the achievement of qualifications.
Curriculum and Course Development: Design and adapt teaching materials to meet learner needs, industry demands, and local labour market trends. Ensure all programs are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with employability outcomes.
Quality Assurance (IQA): Conduct internal quality assurance activities to ensure assessment and teaching meet awarding body and organisational standards. Provide support to assessors and tutors, offering feedback and guidance to uphold quality and compliance. Contribute to self-assessment processes and improvement plans for the department.
Learner Support: Create a supportive and inclusive environment to help learners overcome barriers to education. Guide learners on progression routes into employment, further training, or education.
Collaboration and Compliance: Work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders to enhance learner experiences. Maintain accurate records of delivery, assessment, and quality assurance activities in line with organisational policies.
ProfeEngage in ongoing professional development to remain informed about best practices in adult education and quality assurance. Actively contribute to the college’s ethos of innovation and excellence.
What we’re looking for in our Skills and Employability Coach:
A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., Level 3 Award in Education and Training, PGCE, or equivalent).
Assessr qualification (e.g., A1, CAVA) and Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification (e.g., V1, IQA).
Knowledge of the local labour market and understanding of vocational pathways in sectors such as warehousing, care, teaching, and manufacturing.
Strong understanding of digital literacy and employability skills.
Empathetic and mtivational approach to teaching and learner engagement.
Excellent cmmunication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
