Where in Wellcome will I be working? You will be working in the Data protection and Information Governance team reporting to Data Protection Lead. You will sit within the wider Ethics, Governance and Compliance team. What will I be doing? You’ll be reporting to Data Protection Lead, and working within the wider Data Protection and Information governance team. help to ensure that Wellcome manages it’s information in a way that supports our ambitious aims. As a Records and Information Manager Job you will be leading in developing and improving our records management function, working with colleagues from across Wellcome to understand the work they do and manage the information that they create and handle. As a Records and Information Manager, you will: With the wider team, build a culture to help facilitate the use, sharing and storage of data to enable Wellcome deliver its mission efficiently; as well as being the subject matter expert for all matters relating to records and information management, liaising closely with other records and information professionals, participating in corporate working groups and projects as appropriate. Provide proactive, pragmatic quality advice to empower teams to take responsible decisions regarding records and information management. As well as ensuring adoption of best practice in relation to information and records management, as well as ensuring business needs and issues are understood and effectively supported. Design and deliver solutions for corporate records and information in all formats, including Microsoft Office 365, structured data systems, backups and paper records. Be responsible for the management of off-site storage of records and associated processes and procedures, including contract management for off-site storage providers. As well as developing and implement appropriate retention policies for the management of electronic records in accordance with Wellcome’s Retention Guidelines Need to keep-up-to date with legislative developments and best practice in information and records management requirements. And monitor Records Management budget, storage usage and invoices. Exercise cost control and manage expenditure to work within the agreed operating budget. Develop and deliver training and awareness activities to drive behaviour change across the organisation Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, collaborating across departments. Is this job for me? We’re looking for an experienced Records and Information Management Professional who has excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. You’ll have the opportunity to work across a wide number of projects, systems and stakeholders: from our investments team to teams in our unique museum and archive. We are looking for someone who : Has experience in operational and strategic records management, experience of applying Records Management best practice to practical processes and translating into advice for all levels of stakeholders and known for influencing standards and priorities in order to ensure efficient operation of business processes. Experience of using Microsoft Purview to implement retention and classification tools. Specialist expertise of developing, implementing, and evaluating records management strategies, policies and practices including the management of change; specialist expertise of developing, implementing, and evaluating records management and information governance strategies, policies and practices including the management of change Practical knowledge of standards and legislation governing information and records and their implications Proven organisational skills, strategic planning, and project management skills essential. Planning and organising - prioritising activities that create greatest value; managing time, cost and resources effectively. Degree level qualification in an information management related discipline or equivalent experience.
