Peace Recruitments new client, a Glasgow based, Multi-Disciplinary, Construction Consultancy, involved in a range of projects throughout Scotland and the UK are looking to grow their Building Surveying team due to an influx of Instructions.
Great opportunity for a Building Surveyor or experienced Graduate to join an ever-growing practice, and work within an experienced team.
The preferred candidate would have the skills and capability to manage their own workload which in this instance would be coming from a specific source from within the insurance reinstatement sector.
Core Responsibilities
The role will involve the validation of contractors reinstatement proposals and reporting on same in a standard form; the scoping of reinstatement works, working with contractors to receive their proposal and also in some instances producing Description of Works, full Tender Documents and carrying out the role of Contract Administrator, whilst suitably managing all reinstatement works on site, and liaising with all stakeholders.
There will also be the opportunity to be involved with traditional Building Surveying professional services, such as Dilapidations Surveys, Schedules of Condition; Building Surveys and Reports for Acquisition and Leasehold; Specific Defect Analysis Reporting; Maintenance Plans; work in relation to historic buildings; Measured Surveys and assisting in developing our team of Graduates, depending on the level of experience. It is generally envisaged however that the majority of day-to-day work shall involve work within the insurance sector.
Hours of work
Standard working week is 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday with flexibility to work from home/office.
Requirements
1. Excellent degree of knowledge of Building Surveying principles or related professional qualification
2. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
3. Good degree of IT competency and literacy
4. Demonstrate personal and professional integrity and lead by example
5. Ability to work and contribute positively as part of a team and in isolation
6. Ability to work accurately under pressure, adhering to deadlines and service standards
7. Ability to use own initiative and work under minimal supervision and direction
8. Chartered status as a Building Surveyor (MRICS) is desirable or a related construction professional qualification
9. Experience within the insurance sector / similar role is desirable
