Job Title: Despatch Desk Operator
Location: Sharpness
Pay Rate: £11.50ph
Contract: Temporary
Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 7am - 4pm
gap personnel Gloucester are currently recruiting a Despatch Desk Operator to join their Client based in Sharpness.
Main Responsibilities
1. Assist the Transport Coordinator to ensure the efficient running of the despatch desk.
2. Accurately produce site paperwork, consignment notes, and picklists.
3. Ensure the weighbridge (Site Dependant) is operated in accordance with company procedures and policies, ensuring vehicles are weighed in and off site.
4. Ensure goods are received and despatched accurately according to company procedures and protocols.
5. Produce accurate information for Ship discharges (Site Dependant).
6. Clearly explain health and safety site rules to haulage contractors.
7. Check legal compliance with required legislation (ADR documentation).
8. Execute all outstanding bookings daily by regularly communicating with haulage companies regarding booked loads not collected. Raise any issues with the Transport Coordinator & Site Management.
9. Communicate on the telephone in a polite and courteous manner.
10. Accurately confirm pick lists.
11. Answer the telephone and pass on clear, detailed messages.
12. Adhere to company procedures in relation to all aspects of IT systems, business admin processes, and policies.
13. Work under the guidance of the Business Support Services team in relation to policies.
14. Carry out any reasonable request to ensure the efficient execution of the role.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
1. A can-do attitude is essential to ensure our customers receive a high level of service.
2. An excellent telephone manner is essential, with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels and maintain a calm presence under pressure.
3. Accurate computer skills are required to ensure correct information is recorded for all aspects of the role.
4. Ability to work within a small team in the office environment.
5. Good general understanding of PC applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.
