Description If you have a date of birth ranging from 01/09/2007 to 31/08/2008 and are currently in Year 12, you could be eligible to join the Merseyside Police Volunteer Cadet Scheme. This is a one-year scheme running on Saturday mornings between 10am - 12pm that engages young people who are 16-18 years old. Those eligible to apply will have received their GCSE results in August 2024. As a volunteer cadet, you will be involved in a structured training programme, aimed at developing key life skills and providing experiences that cannot be obtained elsewhere. You will have the opportunity to learn more about the police service, with insights and visits to many departments including: Dogs and mounted Firearms Control rooms and contact centres Public order training Forensics Other activities Volunteer Police Cadets can get involved with include fundraising events, local problem-solving exercises, high profile events, first aid training and an insight into football operations.
