Job summary We are looking for a staff nurse with interest in caring for medical patients who will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care needs for patients. Role involves working within a specialist area to deliver high standards of care, working closely with other teams and liaising with other members of the multidisciplinary team. The ward is 31 bedded general medical ward and we care for patients with a range of medical aliments. Nurses will increase their knowledge and skills in relating to different chronic and acute conditions. We are a great team and we look forward to you joining. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be involved in the following: The assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes in care. You will be responsible for the delivery of nursing care to patients You will supervise the work of nursing support staff ensuring that tasks undertaken have been completed and delegated appropriately. It is vital that you include patients/carers in the planning and delivery of care. Where appropriate you will perform clinical skills relevant to the training you have undertaken such as venepuncture, cannulation and administration of intravenous drugs including blood products. It is imperative that you are proactive in managing risk and maintaining patient safety. You are expected to adhere to NMC code of conduct and adhere to the NMC standards of record keeping.
