LZ (pro-rata) Guy's Cancer is one of the UK'S largest comprehensive Cancer Centres, delivered in a Cancer Centre housing ambulatory cancer services which opened in 2016 and a new cancer treatment centre at Queen Mary's Hospital Sidcup (QMS) which opened in 2017. Guy's Cancer comprises a complete multi-disciplinary team of professionals including Clinical Oncologists and Medical Oncologists. Oncology is one of the key services within the Cancer and Surgery Clinical Group at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT). Guy's hosts a well-developed clinical trials unit and the team makes significant contributions to trial recruitment, including close interaction with the Phase 1 trials activity based in the Clinical Research Facility at GSTT. This post comprises 8.25 PAs to support the Gynae and Prostate Oncology Services at GSTT. We are looking for a motivated clinician with an interest in Gynae and Prostate oncology. The clinical part of the post will be working closely with Drs Ingrid White, Anna Winship, Benjamin Taylor, Stephen Morris, Van Ren Sim, Ajay Aggarwal, Vinod Mullassery, Kirsty Morrison and Sindu Vivekanandan. To participate in research activities and clinical trials as required. To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care. To take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training. To contribute to the management of the clinical service and service development. The centre includes individual departments (villages): Welcome (housing all patient support activities), Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy and Outpatients. The 2 centres are equipped with 8 TrueBeam linacs, 3 CT simulators, 1 PET/CT and a new planning system. A ninth linac is due to come into clinical use in November 2024.
