Job Details
We are looking for a committed Pupil Support Assistant (2) who is passionate about improving life chances for all, so that children and young people can achieve their full potential. As a Pupil Support Assistant (2), you will work under the direction and supervision of a Class Teacher or senior member of staff to assist by supporting children and young people who have been identified as requiring additional support.
You will be required to:
* Support pupils/children individually or in class or in small groups in identified areas of learning and personal development.
* Contribute information to update planning and review process for individual pupils/children.
* Supervise pupil/child self-administration of medication and offer a high level of personal care which will enable the pupil/child to function to their full potential.
* Carry out support programmes designed by visiting specialists e.g. speech and language programmes, physiotherapy and/or occupational therapy programmes.
* Support pupil/child mobility on an emergency/short-term basis and for low level needs e.g. to support toileting or short term injury.
Qualification, Registration and Skill Requirements
* Educated to SCQF level 4, which includes National 4 or Standard Grades at General level or O Grades or equivalent.
* Good levels of interpersonal skills and abilities to work as a member of a team to ensure positive outcomes for all children and young people.
* Experience of supporting young people with additional support needs.
