We are looking for a Catering Assistant to be based in one of our Community Resource Centres at Combe Lea, Midsomer Norton, on a part-time permanent basis helping to support the delivery of catering at the adjacent Greenacres Court. We promote and maintain a supportive living environment to meet the needs of vulnerable older adults including those with dementia.
The role is part time working 21 hours per week to help support the catering service. The working pattern will be on a set rota but will include working every other weekend with some bank holidays as well.
About the Team
Bath and North East Somerset have three care homes which are Community Resource Centres located in Keynsham, Bath and Midsomer Norton. Each Community Resource Centre includes a residential care home for between 30 and 45 people, and these homes provide important services to older people in our community. We provide care and health services in a comfortable, safe environment for older vulnerable adults with a variety of disabilities, including dementia.
About the Role
Duties and skills required:
Assisting with transportation and delivery of food across from our kitchen.
Washing and drying of catering equipment/crockery.
All aspects of supporting the team with serving food and drink to service users and others as directed by other team members.
Cleaning of dining and kitchen space.
Setting up of the dining space.
Ensuring the provision of enough supplies of clean crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils for each meal service.
The ability to effectively communicate with care staff, service users and visitors.
A proactive team player who is also able to work on own initiative and without supervision.
Experience of working in a catering environment and an awareness of health, safety and food hygiene is desirable however full training will be provided.
