We are currently recruiting for a childrens unit manager for a LAC service based in Nottingham, supporting children with various conditions transitioning into independent living or back home with families.

Your role will be to manage the Supported Accommodation provision, so that the physical, emotional and safety needs of children are protected and promoted, working within the Government Guidance; the City Council's core values and strategic aims and the Department's policies and procedures in order to meet Quality Standards and achieve good outcomes for the Children Looked After in the provision.
Job Requirements:
Experience working with Children (Essential)
1 year managerial/Supervisory experience (Essential)
Minimum Level 3 in residential childcare or Equivalent
DBS on update service (Desirable)
Ability to manage the provision including allocation of duties and responsibilities, staff deployment, day-to-day supervision and oversight.
Good at problem-solving and ability to make quick decisions
Key Responsibilities
Managing challenging behaviour
Ability to understand equality issues and knowledge and consideration of meeting the diverse needs of the staff team and young people.
Willingness to work a rota system and provide on call cover and sleep-in duties.
Enabling independence by assisting with day-to-day tasks
Ability to manage, monitor and improve performance in order to provide Best Value Services and to develop effective team performance.
