Role Description: The purpose of this role is to support the Conduct & Regulatory Affairs Director in leading the FCA Compliance Department to deliver a pro-active and cost effective service to the regulated companies within the Allianz UK group of companies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leads Compliance Department Financial Conduct Authority regulatory affairs, Financial Crime, Conduct and Compliance Oversight and as a key component of an effective, risk-based and independent compliance service.
2. Manages the relationship with the FCA Supervision Team, including ensuring that requests are dealt with in appropriate and timely manner.
3. Represents the Compliance Department and advises the business in relation to major/strategic/cross-divisional developments on matters relevant to the Financial Conduct Authority relationship, including advice on Compliance matters to the ExCo and Senior Management.
4. Manages AzUK participation in Financial Conduct Authority market studies/thematic reviews and deep dive assessments.
5. Oversees all regulatory reporting requirements to ensure regulatory returns are complete, accurate and submitted on time.
6. Oversees the delivery of effective training and communication on all regulatory matters.
7. Leads effective Horizon Scanning for all regulatory developments.
8. Delivers Regulatory Affairs and 2nd line Conduct reporting for submission to the relevant AzUK Committees.
9. Ensures delivery of Group Compliance requirements within AZUK. Manages engagement with the Group Compliance Team.
10. Supports and deputises for the Conduct & Regulatory Affairs Director.
Essential Skills and Experience:
1. Thorough knowledge of UK financial services regulatory requirements and future developments.
2. Clear, accurate, concise and risk-based analysis and reporting.
3. Efficient and effective operational management, specifically in relation to key regulatory processes.
4. Influence and engage relevant senior and external stakeholders.
5. Ability to work proactively and under pressure.
6. Extensive knowledge and experience of financial services, working at an appropriate level within a governing function or role.
7. Non-compliance related operational or strategic role experience.
8. Regulatory relationship management.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
1. Team leadership experience, supporting team development and engagement.
2. Excellent communication ability - written and oral.
3. Sound analytical and data interpretation skills.
Qualifications:
1. Educated to degree level or equivalent.
2. Professional membership of Chartered Insurance Institute and other relevant professional bodies.
