Location: Frequent travel between Nottingham and London
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, Boots and No7 Beauty Company, with a dotted line to the Managing Director, No7 Boots Company, the People Director will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the No7 Beauty Company People function. This is an exciting opportunity for an existing People Director to be responsible for the whole spectrum, from creating the people plan to leading the execution and delivery of all aspects of the colleague journey for No7. This is a critical role in the leadership and evolution of the business and the People Director will help to shape and transform the organization design and capability to ensure it is well placed to deliver its strategy.
The People Director will lead a highly capable team. Working in partnership with CoE’s to create and deliver a seamless People Strategy across the No7 Beauty Company .
The No7 Beauty Company Leadership Team is a diverse and energetic team split across 5 global locations (London, Nottingham, New York, Chicago and Shanghai). The People Director will be a strategic, active and hands-on member to deliver the business objectives through business focused people initiatives and solutions. He/she will work with business leaders and the People Team to devise a People strategy that is closely aligned to the short, medium and long term commercial and strategic goals of No7 Beauty Company.
In addition, as a core member of the Boots and No7 People Leadership Team, this role be instrumental in influencing the overall People vision.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead the HR function and delivery, ensuring an effective and high performing People team is in place;
•Work in collaboration to effectively design, develop and evaluate the strategy and initiatives that drive the culture and people agenda to achieve the business goals.
•Build close relationships with stakeholders to enable the implementation of organization and cultural change;
•Diagnose emerging people issues and develop and execute solutions in line with the Boots and No7 Beauty Company People vision, legal and company policy requirements and company values;
•Provide robust management information, giving insight and informing best practice decision making;
•Act as a champion within the business for all aspects of HR, ensuring a seamless service is provided to business partners in which reporting lines and boundaries are invisible;
•Be a member of the No7 Leadership Team; accountable for senior level decision making and both day to day management and strategic direction with particular (but not exclusive) focus on People related issues.
•Collaborate with the People leadership and Centres of Excellence across the International division to leverage expertise and capabilities. Ensure alignment with Division and Group-wide People processes and policies;
•Own all people-related aspects of the cultural change and transformation agenda across the business;
•Devise and deliver an appropriate and relevant Talent Management agenda aligned to the No7 Beauty Company strategy to ensure that the business is structured in the right way to meet its goals.
We are seeking a highly experienced People leader who brings a significant track record of success in complex, commercial environments, preferable within a multinational business in a matrix structure. Candidates must be comfortable and capable of operating across the entire HR spectrum, devising complex and forward-thinking People strategies and implementing through a combination of direct team and centres of expertise.
Candidates will demonstrate a high degree of credibility and well honed stakeholder management skills. This is a complex and demanding environment and candidates must be able to influence at all levels and demonstrate strong resilience, excellent communication skills and a high EQ.
As a member of the No7 Leadership team, the appointee will work closely with senior leaders across the business and must be commercially savvy and able to quickly establish credibility and respect in order to act as a true business partner.
Additional experience and personal skills
Demonstrable track record of building and leading effective People teams and functions;
Experience gained within a similar CPG and / or retail environment where pace, continuous improvement, execution, cost-centricity, performance and productivity are all core requirements of success;
Strong leadership; able to motivate and develop a high potential team;
Tenacious with exceptional levels of energy, drive, stamina and integrity. Hands-on, dynamic and action-orientated; able to deliver tangible results in a fast moving/changing environment;
Increased level of resilience and ability to deal with ambiguity; able to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment;
Outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills, a good listener and communicator with a natural but effective style;
